NPLW Season 2022 Trials

The GUFC NPLW Trials are held each year early in Term 4. Our timetable depends on ground availability and ensuring we can work with Capital Football schedules.

We encourage all players aspiring to become NPLW players to register an EOI to attend our trials. In addition to developing the most promising players, it’s important to note that GUFC is a values-based club with a focus on commitment, respect, professionalism and enjoyment. We expect our players to be committed to the values of the Club as much as they are to their own personal growth and development.

Invitation to trial at GUFC is at the discretion of the GUFC Executive, Heads of Performance and the technical team.

NPLW Trials for the 2022 season

Trials will take place from Tuesday 2 November 2021. All players who have submitted an expression of interest (EOI) through the required form will have received an email with times and additional information for their specific age group.

Trials for our National Premier League Girls and Women will consist of four sessions over a two week period with additional sessions added if required

Please note – it is important to treat this information as a guide. Our technical team and selectors may need to modify this slightly depending on numbers, weather, ground restrictions and any changes to the current COVID requirements.

Anybody wishing to trial for GUFC NPL Women this year MUST register prior to attending trials.

Our trials will be taking place under the guidance of our selection team, which include NPLW head coaches and performance head/advisors. GUFC places emphasis on our core values and a strict adherence to our Code of Conduct in addition to skill, coachability and attitude.

Unless advised otherwise, all players MUST attend a minimum of two sessions.

If you are interested in submitting an EOI to attend trials please complete THIS FORM by Monday 1 November 2021

Invitation to trial at GUFC is at the discretion of the GUFC Executive, Heads of Performance and the technical team.

Our trials will go ahead under a strict COVID plan to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of players, families, officials and volunteers. This is our first priority and ask you all to participate safely under these guidelines.

Please enter and exit the ground at the nominated locations.

All attendees at the ground MUST check-in using the Check-in CBR app with the QR Code provided.

Do not attend if you are unwell or have any COVID related symptoms.

Follow hygiene procedures as per COVID guidelines.

If your player is offered a spot within the GUFC NPLW program, you are asked to accept that offer, sign the contract and pay the deposit within 48 hours to secure the spot or the offer will go to the next player in line. It is your responsibility to monitor your email inbox in this regard (this includes your junk/spam folders). Please be vigilant in this regard.

Communication regarding trial results will vary across the course of the week. Some trialists may hear from the club after their first trial session, while others may not hear until the end of the trial period. We know how stressful trials can be on players, which is why we are doing what we can to ensure the GUFC process is as timely and efficient as possible. If you hear that a player has been made an offer, please do not assume that means you have not. Our offers may roll out one by one, or in small groups, with acceptance required within the nominated period before the next round of offers are made. Every player who has registered via our form will hear from us one way or another within two weeks of the commencement of the trials. Please note we do not provide trials feedback to individuals who may not receive an offer to play for GUFC.

Refer to the offer process spelled out on the registration form for more information.

Please ensure you understand the above before you register for GUFC trials and that you double check (and triple check) your contact details in the form before you submit. Please also ensure you are familiar with our Club Values and the Code of Conduct.

All players trialling are covered by the 2021 Play Football registration insurance. If you did not play in the 2021 season, please acknowledge on the form that you understand that in the event of an injury, you may not be covered by FFA/Capital Football insurance
