WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A CAPITAL FOOTBALL REFEREE AND OFFICIATE AT THE GUNGAHLIN UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB?
Throughout the year we are pleased to work with Capital Football on ensuring we have plenty of referees to cover our games. Without a ball, a field, a goal and a referee, there’s no point turning up for a game, right? Which means our referees at the GUFC are very important to us.
Capital Football understands refereeing can be a challenging task and is dedicated to making your introduction to refereeing as simple and rewarding as possible, providing Referees with a wide range of referee development opportunities and social events, giving them the chance to not only make new friends but develop their refereeing skills.
Click here to see Capital Football Referees courses (days/times) and FFA’s online Laws of the Game course – both Game Leader, Referee Level 4 and female only Referee Level 4 courses (11 Feb & 27 Feb). Following the easy step-by-step instructions, but if things don’t go well, please call your Club Referee Coordinator, Gavin on 0439384175.
FEMALE REFEREE LEVEL 4 COURSE
Capital Football will deliver 2 (two) Referee Level 4 courses exclusive to female participants in early 2023. Unlike the other scheduled courses, this course will be conducted face-2-face in a classroom.
There will be no cost for this course, which includes a ticket to an ALW Canberra United match immediately after the course.
BECOME A GAME LEADER
Becoming a Game Leader is the perfect first step for kids aged 12-13 to lean the basic skills of officiating in a fun and positive club environment.
This course has been specifically designed as an introduction to officiating which allows anyone who completes the course to referee MiniRoos matches (U6-U11) at their junior club. The course is a 2-hour practical course.
You can become a Game Leader for $40. This fee includes registration in a Game Leader course, Game Leader registration fees (for the season) and the Game Leader starter kit containing the Green Game Leader jersey, whistle and bag. Becoming a Game Leader is the perfect first step to develop the basic referee skills (confidence, leadership, communication) before deciding to take the next step as a Level 4 Referee!
BECOME A REFEREE LEVEL 4
This course certifies anyone aged 13+ and above to referee full-field football matches. It is a great way to become involved or stay involved in community football as well as:
- develop leadership skills;
- improve self-confidence;
- develop communication skills; and
- earn from $35 per game!
Part A of the Referee Level 4 qualification consists of 3x 90-minute online theory sessions. Part B of the qualification involves attending 1x 2-hour training session, providing you with the practical skills required of a Referee and Assistant Referee.
Before attending the course, you must complete FFA’s online Laws of the Game course and send your certificate to Capital Football’s Referee Administration Manager. The online training module provides a basic introduction to the Laws of the Game and their interpretations which will prepare you for the Referee Level 4 course.
Capital Football recommends that anyone aged 13 gains experience as a Game Leader for 1 year before deciding to undertake the Referee Level 4 course.
