The 2018 Season is around the corner and teams being formed will need a coach. In general, the majority of GUFC younger teams will have a volunteer coach/game facilitator self-appointed and we would like these coaches to have completed the FFA/Capital Football grassroots courses. GUFC will work with CF and coach coordinators to run more of these courses prior to the junior league season starting.
To align with the GUFC vision we would like to ensure development opportunities are available for selected coaches. Our goal is to see that our division 1 and 2 junior coaches (U10-U18) hold a Junior Licence as a minimum, and where possible a Youth Licence is desirable.
All GUFC coaches must register on myfootballclub, comply with ACT Government’s Working With Vulnerable People requirements.
COACH APPOINTMENTS FOR 2018
U10 – U11 – U12 Division 1 Teams
GUFC coaches will be appointed by a club technical group comprising 1st Grade Men’s coach, General Manager Sports & Director Premier League. Expressions of Interest should be submitted to Director PL by 1 March: [email protected]
U13 – U18 Division 1 and all Division 2 Teams
GUFC coaches will be appointed at the discretion of General Manager Sports. Expressions of Interest to Coach these teams should be emailed to [email protected] asap
APPOINTMENT CRITERIA (U10-U11-U12 Division 1)
It is desirable for applicants to have coaching qualifications (or provide a planned pathway for junior/youth licence completion).
Consideration will be given to the applicant’s knowledge, experience and communication skills in relation to the age group they are applying to coach and for football coaching generally.
Successful candidate(s) for each coaching position will be notified asap. Other candidates will be notified via email once a coach has been appointed.
